PML-6010 Ut-1 (AIR-14) - Rubber Powered model

Rubber powered model copy PML-6010 "Ut-1" (AIR-14) continues a series of models of copies "Wings of Soviet"..

This model is training and is intended mainly for novice modelers. It is simple in design, stable in flight, has a good appearance. The use of a three-wheeled chassis gives the model a finished look.

This kit will be a wonderful gift for both beginners and experienced modelers.

The UT-1 is a Soviet training aircraft created at the Yakovlev Design Bureau. It was used to train highly qualified pilots in peacetime.

6 world records of speed, range and altitude were set on the UT-1. UT-1 machines were also used to train fighter pilots, which also allowed saving fuel and resources of combat aircraft. To practice shooting skills in the air, synchronous SHKAS machine guns were installed on the UT-1.

During the Great Patriotic War, the UT-1 was used as a light attack aircraft. Two SHKAS machine guns were installed on the machines in the field, either under the wing, at the landing gear racks, or on the wing, as well as four PC shells in pairs. On May 23, 1942, the first UT-1 sortie took place during the defense of Sevastopol (a total of 778 sorties were made before July 1, 1942). In August and September, planes fought in the Caucasus. 517 sorties were carried out in the battles for Novorossiysk (335 of them were night sorties). The actions of the UT-1 made it possible to slow down the German offensive into the Caucasus.

A total of 1,256 aircraft were produced, including 15 production vehicles built at the Yakovlev Design Bureau GAZ-115 pilot plant in 1938. The aircraft was withdrawn from the USSR Air Force in the late 1940s, replaced by the Yak-11.

Several copies have survived to this day, except for the exact copies of the UT-1 created in the 1990s.
