PML-2008 Yak-18T- C/L training model copy - Scale 1:12

C/L contour model copy PML-2008 "Yak-18T" continues a series of models of half-nighters "Wings of Soviets" in the class F4B (F4B).

This model is training and is intended mainly for beginners modelers. It is simple in design, stable in flight, has a good appearance. The use of a three-wheeled chassis allows the model to avoid tilting at the start and forgives rough landing errors.

The model will be available in versions allowing the installation of different types of engines, both foreign (ASP, OS LA) and domestic engines (there is an option for KMD 2.5, MARZ 2.5 and 2.5 CSTKAM). The kit will be a wonderful gift for both beginners and experienced modelers.

The Yak-18T is Soviet/Russian light training and passenger four-seater aircraft with trunk. Yak-18T was created on the basis of the Yak-18 and became the final modification in the series Yak-18U, Yak-18A, Yak-18P, Yak-18PM, Yak-18PS..

Development of the Yak-18T was started in 1964. The first flight of the prototype was made in 1967, serial production was carried out in 1973-1983 at the Smolensk aviation plant. In total for this period in Smolensk 536 Yak-18T, including skilled and intended for tests copies are made. In 1974 was built sanitary version of the aircraft (factory N№ 03-05), designed to transport the patient on a stretcher, accompanied by a doctor, but the mass production of this modification was not organized. In OKB A. S. Yakovlev also developed versions of the aircraft with ski and float chassis, but before the construction it did not come.

Initially, the Yak-18T was designed as a multi-purpose, so the Ministry of forestry and health of the USSR ordered for its units 300 machines. These applications were not satisfied, because the decision of the Council of Ministers of the USSR Yak-18T was adopted as a training aircraft. Within 10 years, the Smolensk aircraft factory has sent its products only to the flight school of civil aviation: Aktobe, Buguruslan, Kirovograd, Krasnokutsk and Sasovo. In aeroclub DOSAAF Yak-18T aircraft are not supplied.

In 1988, the order of the Ministry of civil aviation of the USSR Yak-18T were decommissioned. Some of them were disposed of, and about 200 aircraft were purchased at the residual value of enthusiasts. As a result, this type of aircraft for a long time became the most numerous in General aviation in the CIS countries. Some of them were sold to private individuals abroad. Therefore, today the Yak-18T can be found in different countries, in particular in Australia, USA, Brazil, New Zealand.
